Tridatu, meaning 'Three Elements,' holds profound philosophical significance in Hindu beliefs. It is a composition of threads, each representing a specific color and element. The three threads symbolize the divine Trinity: Lord Brahma (the creator), represented by the color Red; Lord Vishnu (the preserver), represented by the color White, and Lord Shiva (the destroyer), represented by the color Black.
Additionally, the Tridatu threads symbolize the Three Corners (Tri Kona) of existence: Birth, Life and Death.
The use of Tridatu threads serves as a constant reminder of the greatness of God in His roles as creator, preserver, and destroyer. It encapsulates the entire journey of life from birth to life and eventually to death.
